I fished today & my target species was schoolie Southern Bluefin Tuna, while i was heading out there was a Cruise ship in the harbour. I found the Southern Bluefin Tuna, you can see the water ripples in the pic below, a sign that the Tuna are under there - So i placed my trolling Pakaula skirts out & started trolling over the patch of SBT's - Fish On - I caught & kept two SBT's, two is the legal daily bag limit, caught usng the Alvey OSR160 Offshore spinning reel - One fish is in the bucket bleeding out, the other is already bleed & i will gut & gill them immediately, then ice them down - Nice day for fishing the Tuna, warm & enough wind to be not too calm, but fishable - The SBT's are immediately bleed, then gilled & gutted upon capture, the placed in a cooler bag with plenty of ice - Two Southern Bluefin Tuna of approx 15kg + - Ready to transfer into the cooler bag, with an ice slurry, i always take good care of my SBT's - Now that i caught my bag limit, it was time for some sport fishing, catch & release - I caught & Released several nice SBT's - I caught several more SBT's which i released, end of day i had my bag limit of two SBT's -
