I fished the rock wall today, with a hope of big Snapper or Gummy sharks, not to be today - A big ship was escorted out of the harbour by the Tug boat's - I hooked a big fish earlier that busted me up on the rocks, then again i got a hookup & got a decent Port Jackson Shark 'Released' - I hooked a solid Australian Salmon of 2kg, this fish fought hard, jumping out the water - Caught on a Alvey 50 & Garry Howard Breambo rod with 4kg line - Later i hooked another big Skate, i released this unharmed - End of day i caught a few of Silver Whiting & little Yakka's, great bait for Snapper etc, also another hard fighting Aust Salmon -

Take and release rays are ever a little dangerous.

Take and release rays are ever a little dangerous. Indeed they are, you must take care.

ive seen people just grab the tip of their tail and throw the back, but that seems a little risky to me.
