hey all,
I'm thinking of getting a Shimano sienna + quickfire 2-4 kilo combo from anaconda, i have had this exact combo before but the rod snapped :dn: .
what line should I put on it. i had 6 kilo spider wire braid on one of my more recent bait rods but the tip snaped. the spiderwire is good but the colour faded a bit. does colour really matter for bait fishing? ill have clear exage leaders on so the fish dont see the braid but is that a good option?
any other suggestions for line would be much appreciated. if you are suggesting other lines my budgets is maximum $30, but i don't want to be buying crappy lines.
thanks,

I take it the Sienna is a 2500? I personally don't use braid anymore these day's, it's great for deep water or fast moving water, but for general use, am all for monofilament fishing lines, particularly Platypus Lo Stretch, as it offers sensitivity similar to braid, but with some stretch which is good for fishing 'less pulled hooks' & heaps better abrasion resistance, with braid one nic on a rock etc & its good bye. If you must use braid, i have used, in order of my preference - Platypus Pulse X8 / X4, Platypus Platinum Braid. Platypus Platinum Braid @ Anaconda - "Click Here"

I prefer the Pink, as it's the first colour to disappear in the water, but i also use the blue. Always use the smallest swivel above the rig e.g size 12 / 10 for line 4lbs to 25lbs,check the swivels packet for the breaking strain rating, if you using 6lbs to15lbs line, a swivel similar to the breaking strain of the line is needed & nothing more, too big a swivel & light line don't mix, as the light line doesn't have the power to spin the swivel.

Don't forget to link braid and mono/fluoro you need a proper knot.

I use an Albright knot, it seems to do the trick and hasn't let me down once.

Nomad design, seems like a instore brand? Possibly fine to use, i prefer the quality of Platypus, Maxima Braid or Mono, PowerPro, Berkley Fireline etc..

change of plans, I might get the diawa luxel 7' 3000 2-4 kilo at anaconda, they are both the same price and I will be able to use that for bait and lures. plus the colours will look good with the nomad braid lol, thanks for all your help every one.
