I have a great respect for all fish species, i always take only what i need for my immediate needs & always return unwanted fish unharmed back to the water, particualrly what are considered by catch or pest species e.g Port Jackson Sharks, Banjo Sharks, Rays etc..
The senseless killing of such fish species is illegal & upsetting, anglers must do the right thing.
Heres an example of anglers cruelty -

Even before the laws existence, were consensual to not kill what you will not eat. My grandfather were fisherman, my father too, and both said that. When I fish, is common to release mostly what I caught, mainly the bycatch.
