It's been a few months now since i caught Southern Bluefin Tuna, so i ventured out in my Tinny. Trolling with my 'NOS' Daiwa Sealine 450H reels - I found the mutton birds & Tuna feeding, now it was time to try hook up, with my new Daiwa 450H's 'Fish On' - First fish in for the day, first time using the NOS Daiwa Sealine 450H & caught a nice SBT - The new Daiwa Sealine 450H handled the task superbly - This fish was approx 18kg & fought very hard, but was no match for the Sealine 450H - Soon after i got a double header strike 'Fish On' - I kept one & release the other SBT - These SBT's are fat & healthy fish, very strong fighters - I released the other fish, as you can only keep two per day, it was a great fishing session, BIG fish from a small boat ..

What type of bait did you use for your catches? Hello Saverio I used Pakula micro skirted trolling lures, these are very effective at catching tuna. 'pic below is my actual lures' used to catch the Bluefin Tuna - The size is small approx 12cm, these match the bait fish being eaten - These are also rigged with 120lbs leader, chemically sharpened mini game hooks & crimped shut with no knots..

Thanks for the information FH. The captain of the boat I'm going fishing in May lost two sailfish last Sunday, 03/17. One escaped the hook when it jumped out of the water, and the other cut the leader, I suspect that the fishermen who were with him did not have the most suitable material for the fish. As I have a very wide variety of this type of bait, it doesn't hurt to ask, it might work here too!

I intend to build a teaser similar to the Pakula Witch Doctor. I just need to find a light and resistant wood, as I already bought the plastic mirrors, and I already know how to place the lead counterweights on the front of the bait. I like doing this type of work, I consider preparing teasers or assembling bait as a form of fishing, even if it's not in the water.

^^ Agree, fishing is off the water as well. Many hours I spend rigging, servicing reels, boat engines etc..
