Fished yesterday evening off the breakwater & caught a nice King George Whiting - Then a 35cm Pinkie Snapper - A school of Salmon busted up inside the harbour & a guy near started spinning for them & caught a nice sized one - To finish the fishing session, i had three Pinkies & one KGW

The Atlantic Whiting is very different. The three most common species of Whiting here in Victoria Australia - - King George whiting - The largest of all the Whiting & excellent table fish. - Silver Whiting - Smaller, but good eating & great bait fish. Grass Whiting, not fished for often & ok table fish -

Here, two kinds. The Beach Whiting (Perna de moça- "Maid's Leg") and the Betara, that grow bigger.
(Note: Betara were the name of a small stick the ancient coastal indigenans used in the low lip)
